Your Primary Care Journey. Simple. Digital. Personal.

Care starts with a consultation on WhatsApp with a qualified clinician. You get the best care for your symptoms while saving you time travelling and waiting in endless clinic queues. Care from home, with the aim of getting you better quickly. Medication and booked GP visits are available if clinically necessary.

1. Send a WhatsApp

Say hello to the NHG Clinical Team.
072 815 8226
Clinical hours:
Monday–Friday: 08:00–18:00
Saturday: 08:00–14:00

2. The consultation

Wait for the clinician to start the consultation. You will be talking to a qualified clinician, not a call centre agent or a bot.

3. Your assessment

The clinician checks your symptoms, how bad they are, how long they have lasted and your health history, using voice notes, photos and chat.

4. The Clinician chooses the right care.

It can be one of these, or a few together.

Most cases finish here, on WhatsApp

Advice and self-care

What to do at home, what to watch for, and when to come back.

Medicine

Over-the-counter medicine, or a script sent to a pharmacy from a preset list of medications.

Sick note, if needed

Issues when clinically indicated, if you are too sick to work. Often without a GP visit.

If more checks are needed

Pharmacy checks

Eg blood pressure, blood sugar or ear care at a pharmacy. Reported back to the clinical line.

Only Clinically Indicated

GP referral, virtual or in-person

A network GP, once the clinician has assessed your clinical needs and a GP visit is clinically indicated.

Blood tests, x-rays and minor procedures

From a set list, when the GP requests them. Specialist referrals may be covered, so check your plan.

Above all, we work with our clients to ensure that their members, clients and staff are given affordable access to healthcare services that will stand them in good stead by reducing absenteeism and strengthening their businesses. We aim to help our clients build morale, solidarity, loyalty and ultimately good labour relations in the workplace.

It is a proven fact that absenteeism affects the productivity, efficiency, and profitability of businesses and that it has the potential to erode the bottom line of even the best run companies. In fact, if we were to calculate the financial losses incurred within the South African economy as a result of absenteeism in the workplace it would amount to several billion in lost revenue.
